My name is Aimee. I’m a mother to three: two girls; ages 8 and 4 and a boy, 22 months; wife to one. I’m a full-time working women in my 30s who struggles with work-family balance, personal balance and trying to maintain a healthy workout schedule. I have 20 lbs that I have been trying to get off my body since the birth of my second daughter. I gained the most amount of weight with my son (baby #3) and have struggled to get off the weight.
I created (in my head) a bucket list of things to accomplish before age 40 and among them was completing a full marathon. I registered and “won” the lottery for the 2014 Marine Corp Full Marathon in Washington DC. Today is July 18, 2014, I started training 4 weeks ago.
I have completed 3 half-marathons, however, all have led to injury due to over training and not maintaining some type of cross training during the training. I started crossfit to help with my full marathon training.
I should also mention that I eat 80% clean, which means, fruits, veggies, meat. I do my best to stay away from grains, dairy, alcohol, coffee, sugar and processed food. I’m not perfect.
But the purpose of this blog is to track my progression of crossfit, full marathon training and trying to be honest about doing it all, while working and raising kids with my best friend and husband.
